Located in downtown Pittsburgh, the PPG Place Toastmasters Club is part of Toastmasters International.  We are dedicated to helping our members improve their communication and leadership skills.  Originally founded by PPG Industries, our club is open to everyone.  We have members who work for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Highmark, Carnegie Mellon, AECOM, and other local businesses.  We all share a desire for self-improvement, and a willingness to help each other.  Some of our members have been with Toastmasters for more than ten years, and new members join all the time.  Come visit!  We meet at noon on the second, fourth and fifth Tuesdays of every month.

Toastmasters is a non-profit organization which has been helping people feel more comfortable in front of audiences since 1924.  The PPG Place club offers a friendly and supportive environment in which you can develop your public speaking and leadership abilities.  The skills you gain in Toastmasters can be applied immediately to your career and other aspects of your life. 

What is a typical meeting like at the PPG Place club?  We usually have about a dozen members in attendance.  There are typically two speeches delivered at each meeting.  Every member is given an opportunity to speak briefly during the Table Topics portion of the meeting.  Guests are also welcome, but not required, to participate.  The second half of the meeting is dedicated to constructive evaluations of the speeches.  This helpful feedback is a vital part of the Toastmasters method.  You are welcome to come to a meeting and sit quietly in the corner.  We will be sure to welcome you at the beginning of the meeting, and at the end of the meeting we will probably ask you what you think.  If you have any questions, we'll be happy to answer them.  Don't worry if you feel shy.  Helping shy people to feel more confident when speaking is a big part of what Toastmasters is all about!

Our meetings are held in PPG 1 - the tallest building in PPG Place.  There is a security desk in the lobby; you'll need to contact us before you come by for a visit so we can add your name to the guest list. Meetings are held on the second, fourth, and fifth Tuesdays of every month, except when a holiday interferes.  Meetings start at noon and last for one hour.
